1. Export the chat — iPhone: contact name → Export Chat; Android: three-dot menu → More → Export chat. Include media if you want photos in the document.

• Decide on media up front — a text-only export gives a compact PDF; a media export produces a richer but larger one.

Why browser print-to-PDF is not enough for anything formal

Every browser has a built-in "Save as PDF" in its print dialog, and it's tempting to just point it at the chat page. For a quick personal copy, that's fine. For anything you might need to defend, it falls short in ways that aren't obvious until someone challenges the document:

• No integrity hash. A browser print has no way to prove the PDF matches the original export — there's nothing to re-check against.
• No consistent page numbering or Bates stamps. Browser pagination depends on your zoom level and window size and repaginates differently every time you print.
• An incomplete transcript. Long chats often need scrolling or lazy-loading in a web view; a browser print can silently capture only what was rendered on screen at that moment, not the full conversation.
• Header/footer noise. Left to its defaults, a browser print adds the page URL, the date printed, and a title bar to every page — clutter that has nothing to do with the conversation.

Page size: A4 or Letter?
